Job description
What you will do in your working day
Duties will include:
- Die polishing, which in turn will progress to Inspection and polishing of new/existing dies for press, stores & nitride.
- Reading and understanding of profile drawings and die designs.
- Correction of flat and hollow dies using proven methods within our dieshop to include filing, grinding and airtooling.
- Operation of Bridgeport Milling machine.
- Sandblasting.
- Caustic operation.
- Die set up operation.
- High bay order picker operation for sourcing and returning dies to the die storage racks. (Training will be provided).
- Movex operation.
- Nitriding operation.
Environment, Health & Safety
- Adhere to all PPE requirements
- Follow all Health, Safety, Security Environmental, Energy (HSSEE) process and regulations
- Report any HSSEE issues to Department Manager
- Be aware of First Aiders
- Be aware of Health and Safety obligations
- Be aware of Fire evacuation procedures
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and assist in housekeeping audits
- Contribution to reporting of IFE’s (a minimum of 1 per quarter)
- Contribution to WOCs (Walk, Observe, Communicate)
Continuous Improvement
- Be involved in Continuous Improvement activities as they arise
- Be aware of opportunities to reduce costs and escalate to Shift Manager
- Comply with all time and attendance targets
- Maintain high standards of individual housekeeping and 5s
People Development
- Assist/participate in Induction programmes for new starters
- Take part in annual appraisal
The training you will be getting
- EAL Level 2 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Foundation Competence)
- EAL Level 3 Diploma in Advanced
Manufacturing Engineering (Development Competence) – Technical Support - EAL Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Knowledge)
