Primary School Principal
Location: International School of Schaffhausen, Switzerland
The International School of Schaffhausen is a growing school in the Zurich North area, Switzerland. We are an IB-World School authorised for the PYP and Diploma Programme. We seek a visionary and dynamic Primary School Principal to join our vibrant educational community. This leadership role is central to promoting excellence in teaching and learning, fostering a nurturing environment and ensuring the holistic development of students in accordance with our school's mission and values.
Key Responsibilities:
Educational leadership:
- Lead the implementation of the Primary Years Programme (PYP), ensuring high standards of teaching and learning. Work with the PYP Coordinator to develop and improve curriculum strategies.
- Operational Management: Oversee the day-to-day running of the primary school, ensuring a safe, efficient and positive learning environment for pupils and staff.
- Staff Development and Management: Lead, inspire and support a team of teaching and administrative staff, promoting professional development and a collaborative school culture.
- Community Engagement: Foster strong relationships with students, staff, parents and the wider school community to enhance the educational experience and promote the school ethos.
- Strategic Planning: Work with the Senior Leadership Team to set and achieve strategic goals, contribute to school-wide initiatives and ensure alignment with the school's vision.
- Teaching responsibilities: Engage in teaching 60%, model exemplary pedagogical practice and remain connected to the student learning experience.

- The ability to evaluate the progress of students and the quality of their learning and to use this to build a culture of continuous improvement and striving for excellence.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in education or related field, with a specialisation in educational leadership or administration preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years teaching experience with significant leadership experience in a primary school environment.
- International teaching experience and familiarity with the IB curriculum is highly desirable.
