The Vacancy

Senior Quantity Surveyor

(Southern Region)

An exciting opportunity for an established Senior Quantity Surveyor to support the increased volumes of work in the Southern Region, working as part of our commercial team in the South East. We require a Senior QS with the ability to deliver multiple projects with responsibility for tender support, subcontract management, internal reporting and client liaison on a portfolio of rail building and civils schemes.

Business Unit

A busy and fast paced business unit involved in a range of civil engineering works in a variety of sectors to include rail (bridges, embankments, stations, platforms, tunnels etc.), Environment Agency, Local Authority etc. The business unit are involved in multi-disciplinary civils projects across the South East & Wessex regions, whether one off tendered projects or projects within our long term framework / contract agreements with key clients for rail associated building works and civils infrastructure.

Existing contracts include rail building and civils frameworks, minor works and Environment Agency frameworks with works typically including bridge re-construction/replacement, upgrades and refurbishments, station work (platforms, access for all etc.), structures including bridges, tunnels and footbridges.

The Role

As an established Senior Quantity Surveyor in the South East Commercial team, you will be responsible day to day, for:

• Leading the commercial management of multiple sites on time and to budget.

• Pricing and ensuring estimates are submitted accurately and on time,

• Resolving pricing issues with clients

• Liaison with Site Managers to collate information on day to day remits,

• Change management and early warnings

• Contract administration (NEC/NR forms of contract)

Requirements

To excel in this role, you will have previous experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor in a rail contracting environment ideally working on frameworks including a portfolio of projects running concurrently.
