Financial Controller

DK Recruitment are very excited to be advertising a Financial Controller role based in the South for their client in the construction industry. Reporting to the CFO, objectively you will be responsible for managing and developing the Finance team to ensure they deliver a first class service and improve the overall financial performance of the business.
We are searching for an experienced finance professional, self–motivated in their approach who can lead and motivate a Finance team around them. You must be happy and comfortable working under pressure, in a demanding but supportive environment. While ensuring positive relationships can be built throughout the business, internally and externally.
Key Responsibilities
General Management
– Support the team to ensure that people individually and collectively achieve their potential in delivering business performance; ensure achievable but stretching objectives are set for individuals, aligning with the business goals.
– Ensure TPPs and IPPs are completed in time and that they are regularly reviewed through the year in accordance with the organisation's performance management procedures.
– Promote best practice in all aspects of the business and to address conflict and issues positively where they arise.
– Implement and/or review company policies, primarily covering finance, but not limited to this, to ensure policies are up to date and legally compliant.
Finance
– Lead a small finance team effectively.
– Assist the management team to maximise their contribution to business performance.
– Adhere to procedures relating to the proper use and care of assets, equipment, and materials for which the role has responsibility.
– Coach management to understand the impact of decisions on the financial performance of the organisation.
– Review all financial and other related business processes and implement efficiency improvements through automation and other process enhancements.
Financial Reporting
– Provide quality financial information to management teams to enable the effective management of the business.
– Support the engineering teams with the management of engineering projects to assist with ensuring they remain within budget.
– Prepare monthly management accounts for presentation to customers.
– Provide adhoc information for management decision making.
