Fleet Management Team

37 hours

Shift Pattens – 07.00 am to 3.30 pm & 08.30 am to 5.00 pm

Grade G  Scp 23 £32,076 to Scp 27 £35,745

Tool Allowance -£34.21 per month

Permanent Contract

Essential requirements – Current valid driving licence, Qualification Level 3 NVQ or City & Guilds qualification (Light or Heavy Goods Vehicles)

The Role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for three Vehicle Technicians to join our Vehicle Fleet team based at Bolton Council’s Wellington Street depot. 

We are looking for people with a positive 'can do' attitude and an ability to work efficiently, safely, and to a high standard. Duties will include maintaining the councils varied fleet of vehicles including vans, tippers, welfare buses, gulley wagons, gritters and refuse vehicles.

You will play a vital role in keeping our front-line services moving. Working in our modern workshop, you will be paid a tool allowance and provided with overalls and a laundry service. Regular, non-contractual overtime is available at weekends and bank holidays.

The successful candidate will work the following 2 shift patterns on a rotational basis to meet the service need:

· Day Shift 1 - 0700 to 1530 (Monday to Thursday) 0700 - 1500 (Friday)

· Day Shift 2 - 0830 to 1700 (Monday to Thursday) 0830 - 1630 (Friday)

About You:

The successful applicants will be enthusiastic and enjoy working as part of a team, with good verbal and written communication skills.

You should have a flexible approach to work and be able to use your own initiative to problem-solve and meet deadlines. You should take pride in your work and always strive to deliver high quality workmanship.

You must have a comprehensive toolbox and a full and current driving licence; possession of a category C (LGV) & D1 (minibus) licence would be an advantage, but not essential.

Applicants should hold a Level 3 NVQ or City & Guilds qualification (Light or Heavy Goods Vehicles) and have a minimum of 2 years previous experience as a Motor Vehicle Technician.
