Job description

We are looking for a Technical Equipment Advisor to work across clinical and operational teams within Hertfordshire Equipment Service (HES), to support the professionals and services we work with.

We work with prescribers, and a range of professionals, across adult social care and NHS organisations to ensure that the functional needs of Hertfordshire residents and/or their carers are met with clinically suitable equipment and service elements.

This role is a vital link between our internal and external clinicians along with equipment suppliers and manufacturers.

As a subject matter expert you'll be leading on all aspects of specialist technical advice, upskilling and developing employees on the correct use and maintenance of bespoke equipment items for adults and children with disabilities, ensuring legal and clinical compliance with bodies such as the MHRA and NHS.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

• Lead on all aspects of training and development of HES staff to upskill and maintain essential knowledge levels
• Ensure safety and legal compliance of service delivery for specialist and standard community equipment for hospital discharge, maintaining independence and the supply of bespoke equipment items for adults and children with disabilities
• Oversee and administer specialist technical training of staff at all levels to ensure that service delivery is of the highest standard
• Make recommendations to ensure that equipment solutions are proportionate to clinical needs

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

• Specialist knowledge of health care equipment
• Knowledge based ability to lead on, advise and influence decisions made at a senior management level
• Experience of working with health professionals and care providers
• Experience of providing advice and solutions with equipment
• Experience developing, monitoring, and implementing training programmes as well as identifying and assessing current and future training requirements.
