Yokogawa UK is offering a compelling opportunity for a dynamic Systems Safety Engineer to join our team in Aberdeen on a permanent basis. We are seeking an individual with high development potential and a proactive, can-do attitude. As a Systems Safety Engineer, you will play a crucial role in project delivery within a cross-border team, reporting directly to the Team Lead.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assume a project delivery role, actively participating in the design and delivery of new Yokogawa Pro-Safe hardwired safety control systems, adhering to Yokogawa’s lifecycle and engineering practices.
- Design and execute modification workscopes for existing Yokogawa Pro-Safe hardwired safety control systems, following Yokogawa’s lifecycle and engineering practices.
- Provide support by attending client onshore/offshore sites for maintenance, installation, and commissioning activities when required.
- Collaborate with the sales team to deliver quotations, preparing sales supports for projects, modifications, and renewals of support contracts.
- Develop customer awareness of Yokogawa safety engineering capabilities.
- Assist in the development/maintenance of procedures and documentation associated with IEC61508/61511 certification.
- Support departmental training efforts, ensuring full conversancy with the latest versions of Safety Shutdown & Distributed Control Systems.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Recognized qualification in Electrical/Mechanical/Control Engineering or equivalent.
- BOSIET/medical certificates or willingness to undergo training.
- 3-5 years of relevant industry experience.
- Experience in maintaining Safety Shutdown & Distributed Control Systems onshore and offshore.
- Knowledge of IEE 17th edition wiring regulations.
- Desirable: Wiring experience and functional safety certification.
- Proficiency in Autocad and Windows/Office Applications.
- Good understanding of relay logic and PLCs.
Candidates must be:
- Willing to travel as required.
