Title: Technical Lead (or Full Stack Developer/Lead Front End Developer)

Salary: £55-75k DOE

Location: Hybrid remote, with travel to the Bournemouth Development Centre. The ideal candidate must be located within an hour of Ringwood, Hampshire.

Job description

The Tech Lead with Developer Skills will play a critical role in supporting the office of the CTO in leading a team of developers and guiding the technical direction of our projects. This role will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and stakeholders, to deliver high-quality software solutions. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of software development processes, excellent leadership abilities, and a proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects.

As we continue to grow and expand, the role will transition from a focus on hands-on development with tech lead responsibilities to a more pronounced emphasis on tech leadership. This evolution will take place throughout the remainder of 2023, allowing for increased opportunities to drive technical initiatives, mentor team members, and shape the strategic direction of our organisation.

Responsibilities:

Lead and inspire a team of developers, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and support throughout the software development life cycle.

Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and stakeholders to understand client requirements and deliver innovative solutions that challenge the norm.

Develop and maintain a disruptive technical roadmap aligned with our vision, leveraging emerging technologies and industry best practices.

Design, develop, and deliver high-quality software solutions that not only meet client needs but exceed their expectations.

Foster a client-focused culture within the team, ensuring that our clients have a delightful experience throughout their engagement with Bridgetech Group.

Continuously evaluate and improve our service delivery process, identifying areas for optimization and implementing best practices.

Conduct thorough code reviews, providing constructive feedback and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, disruptive solutions.

Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and market developments, and advocate for their adoption when appropriate.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to seamlessly integrate software solutions and drive successful project deployments.

Proactively troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, minimizing downtime and ensuring client satisfaction.

Work closely with CTO to develop the Bridgetech Technology organisation.

Advise commercial teams on technical impact of business priorities when called on.

Qualifications:

Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field or equivalent work experience.

Proven experience as a Tech Lead or similar leadership role, preferably in a fast-paced software development environment.

Strong proficiency in software development in areas such as:

PHP (especially Laravel)

React / JavaScript front end development

Python

REST API design

OAuth2

Other web technologies like HTML, CSS etc…

Solid understanding of software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, etc.) and version control systems (Git, SVN). Familiarity with Azure DevOps preferable.

Demonstrated experience with AWS cloud platform and associated services especially serverless (S3, SNS, Lambda)

Familiarity with databases (especially PostgreSQL RDBMS), data modelling, and optimisation techniques.

Experience of web application deployment and live monitoring helpful

Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate and influence cross-functional teams.

Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities, with a passion for driving technical excellence and innovation.
