Job description
Would you like to make a difference within the local community? Are you great with people? Although initially a 3-month contract, it is expected the funding will extend to a longer-term role.
You will be providing one to one coaching and support to people who are currently on universal credit but are not expected to work due to their current situation (often a health condition). You will explore the options of potentially returning to work in future to see if this is feasible as well as building up their employability skills. Its important to note this is a voluntary programme, and there are no targets on getting people into work. Its all about working with people to explore options and develop their skills.
A typical one to one could include:
A key part of the role will be to generate referrals for the programme. Once participants are on board you will then deliver the one-to-one support. To generate referrals this will involve attending events and networking with other local charity partners or government agencies such as DWP / job centres. This means you wont really be office based, and most days will be out and about. You might do a day or two at home each week if needs be.
To apply, you must have good IT skills (so comfortable with MS word, outlook, excel, teams etc) and have good people skills. So you could have worked within retail, hospitality or customer services. Job roles that could be a good fit include customer service officer, retail assistant, café worker, recruitment consultant, sales consultant, support worker, key worker etc.
