Job description
A world-renowned chemical manufacturing business based in Harwich is recruiting a Maintenance Engineer to join its team on a permanent basis. As their Maintenance Engineer, you will undertake preventative routine maintenance (PPM) including inspections, measurements, and lubrication activities.
This role requires you to be on call – so you must be within a commutable distance of Harwich.
Maintenance Engineer responsibilities
Undertake preventative routine maintenance including inspection, measurement and lubrication activities.
Carry out workshop and onsite repairs that includes:
defect identification and cause analysis
operate engineering workshop tools and equipment
welding and fabrication
undertake heavy lifting operations
undertake works at height and confined space entry
work completion inspection
Record work-related information in CMMS
Implement improvement modifications
Communicate with others within and outside own department
Maintenance Engineer requirements
Relevant engineering qualifications such as NVQ etc.
Experience working in a manufacturing/production environment undertaking planned preventative maintenance.
Competent in working with drills, grinders, lathes, and mechanised saws.
English and PC literate
Experience with databases and MS Excel.
Experience of working within or understanding of health & safety standards and regulations
£42k + excellent company benefits + on-call bonus
