Salary: £33,600

The British Library is looking for a conservation training manager to join the conservation team.

The job holder will deliver courses/workshops and other activities for international training collaborations, such as the Endangered Archives Programme (EAP) Hubs project.

This is a unique and exciting opportunity to travel around the world and deliver conservation and collection care workshops to conservators and other professions working in libraries and archives. Destinations include India, South Africa, Jamaica, Lesotho to name a few.

The successful candidate will supervise, support and coach trainees both BL staff and external collaborators taking part in the International programme remotely and in person abroad. The conservation training manager will liaise with and offer professional advice to conservators, curators and other colleagues on a local, national and international level.

The job holder will hold a degree in conservation/preventive conservation, demonstrate management skills, the ability to communicate effectively and the ability to coach, train and supervise other conservators and other professions.

The successful candidate is expected to demonstrate a willingness to work outside normal working hours.
