Ecological Clerk of Works (Hybrid)/client site)
The role
We are recruiting for an experienced Ecological Clerk of Works ( ECOW) /Environmental Manager to oversee implementation of CEMP and environmental mitigation measures on a large construction project in Co. Kerry. The position will involve environmental monitoring, auditing and inspection, liaison with local residents on environmental aspects of the project environmental performance throughout the construction, together with reporting to the Client and Planning Authority on performance. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience on a large-scale construction project, working as part of a multidisciplinary team. The Consultancy have been involved throughout the design and planning for this project and are seeking a candidate with practical site-based experience to join the team and provide site based support throughout an estimated 2 year construction phase.
Your role will include:
· Auditing of site management plans/method statements and works for compliance
· Providing site-specific advice to contractor(s) on the delivery of agreed mitigation measures
· Liaising with stakeholders such as Planning Authority, statutory regulators and members of the public
· Regular surveying to monitor environmental sensitivities at the site
· Monitoring of performance of surface water quality management plan (noise, field chemistry and collection of grab samples)
· Management of noise and dust monitoring programme
· Management of archaeological monitoring of groundworks
· Reporting on compliance with CEMP and RWMP
· Attendance at site meetings, including recoding minutes and action items
· Preparing documented responses to queries from KCC/IFI/NWPS etc as required
Criteria
· Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role
· Excellent interpersonal skills and report writing skills.
· Ability to work on your own initiative on technical matters and provide support to others within the team
· Degree in Environmental Science/Engineering or related
· A very good understanding of the Environmental Legislative requirements relevant to construction.
