Role Purpose:
To ensure the optimum equipment availability throughout the plant. To facilitate excellent communications between maintenance and the other departments in the plant, sister companies and suppliers whilst maintaining safe and efficient methods in the day to day activities of the job. Support the team with improvements, ideas and initiatives. To provide high equipment availability through re-engineering solutions, renewal/replacement/repair, inspection and preventative maintenance.
HSE
- It is critical to ensure that all Health, Safety and Environmental rules are adhered to and maintained across the department.
- Active participation is solving case relating to risk assessment actions, risk engineering recommendations and general IFE’s, all documented in the IMS system
- Ensure excellent housekeeping standards are maintained in the maintenance workshop, warehouse and auxiliar areas as well as after the maintenance operations in the equipment affected.
- Plan and monitor contractors working in maintenance duties.
HR
- Manage your team on a daily basis to include staff welfare, training, absence management, communication and performance management and upskilling of your team.
- Review and coordinate manning requirements with other areas in the plant on a day-by-day basis.
- Continuously develop the improvement of team communication and engagement with assistance from the department Hydro Monitor Action Plan and activity.
ENGINEERING
- Identify, plan and execute re-engineering solutions focused on continuous improvements working with the different production departments.
- Plan and organise Capital Expenditure Projects
PREVENTIVE
- Ensures equipment inspections are carried out according to the group recommendation/expectations.
- Ensures regular legal inspections are carried out internally or outsourced such as crane inspections, gas inspections and legionella controls.
- Ensure MMS is maintained and updated accordingly.
- Implement and control spare parts procedure and strategy.
- Ensure the preventive maintenance plan is updated and executed, by ensuring tasks are completed and all resources are in place.
- Adheres to the maintenance budget assigned by the business plan.
- Prepare and plan all maintenance shutdown activities.
- Design the weekly preventive plans together with the team in alignment with production requirements.
- Analyse press stops with IMPEX and amends preventive plans accordingly.
CORRECTIVE
- Keeps the production line stops below the set target.
- Ensure the shifts are covered with the correct team availability and skills.
- Ensure there is a smooth and accurate shift handover.
- Implement quality spot checks for work carried out by team.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience:
- 5+ years working as a Maintenance Manager in a Manufacturing environment - Manufacturing background essential.
- Previous experience of managing and motivating a team within a production environment preferred. A demonstrated ability as a leader, with developing skills and an ability to work effectively with staff in a range of functions and at all levels within the business.
- In depth understanding of Extrusion processes is preferable.
- Experience in continuous improvement, problem solving and change management in an industrial environment.
- Good level of MS office and IT competence.
- Interests in continuous improvement, problem solving and change management in a manufacturing environment.
- Credible and mature, with a strong work ethic and open minded and receptive to change.
- Good English skills both orally and written.
- Organised and structured way of working. Ability to work independently and manage team time effectively.
- Lead multi-disciplined Team members.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Good work ethic and drive to complete on time and meeting production deadlines.
- Have a “Low scrap, High Productivity” mindset for efficient Team management.
