Purposeof Role
The purpose of the Quality Inspectorrole is to ensure that yacht builds meet Oyster standards and customerquality expectations. Working with all stakeholders in the business to ensurea right first-time approach is adhered to.
KeyJob Responsibilities
· Carry out buildquality checks to ensure standards are met and processes are being adheredto.
· Implementingquality improvements to help drive down the cost of poor quality issues.
· Logging ofquality issues on the Company snag system (SNAPP), reviewing with the TeamLeader / Yacht coordinators and following through to completion and sign off.
· Ensureapplicable build quality documentation is completed correctly and in a timelymanner.
· Conductaudits against the issued work instructions, processes, and procedures.
· Producereports and records of any defects captured during the build process toensure they are contained, and measures are put in place and adhered to, toprevent re-occurrence.
· Producerelevant documentation to ensure quality standards are met and understood.
· Producingfinal ‘as-built’ photo records of completed yachts.
· Inspectionof selected materials / products from suppliers to ensure conformance torequirements.
· Ensuring qualityissues and incorrect work practices are dealt with and feedback is providedin a timely and constructive manner to the Production team and wider ifnecessary.
· Ensureworking documentation is current, relevant, and updated where required.
· Conductinginvestigations and implementing corrective actions to resolve issues.
· Conductingand reporting on final build inspections.
· Support,maintain, and enhance the quality management system.
· Support the site Quality Manager in ensuring qualityprocesses and best practices are in place and are effective to meet customerneeds, and regulatory requirements.
· Work withSupply Chain to ensure suppliers are meeting agreed standards and any qualityissues are resolved.
· Responsibilityfor ensuring measurement tools (Production related) are calibrated.
· Travel tocontractors and suppliers facilities to inspect and sign-off items prior toshipment to Oyster.
Knowledge, Skills, Experience andQualifications required to perform the role
Knowledge
· An understanding of continuousimprovement methodologies such as 6S, Lean Manufacturing, desirable.
· In depth knowledge of yachtbuilds and defect identification.
· Working knowledge of Root CauseAnalysis techniques such as 8D and 5Why, desirable
Skills
· Competent using MS Officeproducts, primarily Word, Excel and Teams.
· Excellent problem-solving skills.
· Good communication (written andverbal) and interpersonal skills.
· Able to interpret drawings,engineering instructions, and technical specifications.
· Planning and organizing skills.
Experience
· Quality process design andimplementation.
· Investigations, fact find,report writing and quality issue resolution.
· Time served working withinmarine and/or yacht building.
· Quality auditing, desirable.
Qualifications
· Six Sigma, or similar, desirable

Other Requirements
