Bullers Wood School for Girls
Location
Bromley, Greater London | United Kingdom
Job description
The Psychology Department follows the AQA specification, with the Forensic, Relationships and Schizophrenia options currently being taught in the second year of the course.
Psychology is mainly taught in the Sixth Form Centre and is a popular subject, with three teaching groups in year twelve and two groups in year thirteen; although it is anticipated that this will move to three classes in each year group from September.
The Psychology Department is well resourced and is committed to continuously evolving in its pedagogy. The core texts used are from the Illuminate Publishing series ‘AQA Psychology for A Level’ by Flanagan, Berry, Jarvis and Liddle. The department strongly encourages independent learning and students have access to a range of self-study materials on the VLE to enable them to take responsibility for their own learning journey and to develop to their full potential.
Psychology is a dynamic and exciting subject and this is reflected in the delivery of the course. The successful candidate will be expected to incorporate a variety of teaching and learning styles into their lessons, employ differentiated activities and use engaging resources in order to maintain outstanding teaching and learning provision of this subject at Bullers Wood School.
