**Job Title:** Accounts Technician or Accounts Senior
**Location:** Ely Office, Cambridgeshire
**Salary Range:** £23,000 to £32,000 (Dependent upon qualification and experience)

**Position Overview:**
Our client is currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Accounts Technician or Accounts Senior to join their General Practice team in their Ely office. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality accounts preparation and tax compliance services to our client's valued clients. Our client requires an individual with past practice experience, ideally AAT qualified, who can help them maintain their commitment to quality service. After the probation period, this role is eligible for hybrid working arrangements.
**Key Responsibilities:**
As an Accounts Technician or Accounts Senior with our client, you will be responsible for a wide range of tasks including, but not limited to:
1. **Client Accounts:**
- Process client records to draft accounts stage, working with an interesting mix of local clients.
- Complete file sections and cross-reference schedules using integrated CCH software.
- Execute work programs and handle administrative paperwork.
- Finalize jobs and undertake related tax work.
2. **VAT/Book-keeping:**
- Process client records to draft VAT return.
- Complete VAT return forms when reviewed.
- Communicate with clients upon completion and submit VAT returns to HMRC.
3. **Tax Compliance:**
- Prepare corporation tax returns and submit them to HMRC.
- Prepare self-assessment tax returns, including detailed capital gains computations and income from property schedules.
- Utilize computerized tax software for return preparation and calculations, seeking tax planning opportunities.
4. **General:**
- Undertake general administration tasks as needed.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues to promote teamwork and develop internal relationships.
- Identify and meet job-related training requirements.
- Provide support to Partners and managers when required.
- Undertake other reasonable work activities as determined by Partners and managers.
- Pursue appropriate training to ensure compliance with CPD criteria.
**Qualifications and Requirements:**
- Past practice experience is required.
- Ideally AAT qualified.
- Living within a 30-minute commute to our client's Ely office.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Proficiency with accounting software and tax compliance tools.
- Proactive approach to identifying and pursuing opportunities for improvement.
