Morrison Water Services Ltd are currently looking to recruit a Senior P6 Planner. Working on our Scottish Water DV2 Framework working across a wide portfolio of projects. The role is based in our Stepps, Glasgow office reporting to the MWS Head of Pre-Construction and may involve travel to sites as required.
The MWS Scotland region currently delivers a number of frameworks for Scottish Water, including the Infrastructure Capital programme and the MEICA replacement operational alliance DV2 Lot 4 (this role). In addition, IDS deliver further specialist frameworks for Scottish Water as well for a portfolio of non-regulated clients. The business is currently at c. £130m p.a with further growth planned.
The DV2 Lot 4 MEICA replacement framework is a 6-year programme (2021-2027) with an option to extend for a further 6 years. The contract delivers a diverse range of design & construction projects (£100k - £4m) including the replacement of MEICA equipment, associated civil engineering works, specialist control & automation, SCADA and telemetry works. Annual volume £25m-£40m.
As the Senior Planner, you will be in charge of a growing planning team who are responsible for developing the programme of works and assuring and reporting on the programme throughout the project/programme life cycle.
As the Senior Planner your duties and responsibilities will be:
- Report and reviews of information regarding the DV2 Capital Programme
- Provides insight and analysis to support decision making in line with corporate objectives.
- Month end and annual reporting for the portfolio against budgets, costs, forecasts, and scope, as well as feeding into quarterly budget forecasting.
- Coordination of all programmes of work across Lot 4
- Resource capacity planning
- Assist with the development of a KPI reporting suite in line with the DV2 framework
- Work with the pre- construction team (gateway 30 to 90) to ensure visibility of the work throughput.
- Identifying key milestones associated with the contract programme.
- Understand delivery cost performance and benefits being realised.
- Work with Delivery Teams to ensure benefits and outcomes are captured and accurately reported.
- Any contractual change is administered promptly through contractual programmes.
- Report on a weekly basis planned versus actual revenue / outputs.
- Identifying process improvements and associated intervention points – working closely with the pre-construction team and project delivery team
- Identification of delays in the programme and the cause
- Ability to roll up individual programmes into an overall programme view.
- Understand and contribute towards business forecasts of regulatory financial and reputational performance commitments outlined in the frame agreed with the business leaders.
- Support project team and delivery manager at the budget and quarterly re-forecast process to re-evaluate and mitigate risks etc.
- Contribute to team improvement initiatives, work with colleagues to share and agree best practice and promote communication and engagement across teams.
- Monthly contractional P6 updates
Skills and Knowledge Requirements:
- Good working knowledge of business management systems
- Strong working knowledge of Primavera P6
- Working knowledge of SW systems (Primavera unifier) would be an advantage.
- Experience of manipulating datasets and working with databases
- Reporting expertise through Power BI is desirable. Basic knowledge of Power BI is acceptable with additional training available through group.
- Cost Management Systems
- Experience with IT systems, MS Office suite, SharePoint, and other data management systems
- High attention to detail with ability to work accurately with large volumes of financial data.
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
