The PHOENIX Safer Streets 5 Project

In a unique collaboration between Tyne & Wear and Northumberland Fire and Rescue Services, funding has been secured from The Northumbria Police and Crime Commissioner to expand the existing Phoenix team into the North of Tyne area.

This will allow a new team to be appointed for 12 months to deliver Phoenix programmes across both Fire and Rescue Service areas – from Ashington to North Tyneside – to target young people in communities needing targeted support. If successful, both services hope to secure funding to continue this provision in the future.
