Job description
MCL are looking for multiple Senior Piping Designers for our Oil and Gas client in Aberdeen.
Duration: If on a contract basis then estimated durations are 6 months with possible extensions thereafter.
However this may also be available as a Staff role.
Location: Can be based in Aberdeen or Glasgow with the option to work hybrid minimum 3 days per week in the office. However, remote working could be considered with visits to the office
Rate: Negotiable - please apply to discuss
The role is likely to be outside IR35 but the final decision will be made after a Qdos assessment.
**Candidates MUST have UK Right to Work** As a Senior Piping Designer, your responsibilities would include:
- Ensure designs meet project requirements
- Input to project plans
- Identify areas of concern during any project or study
- Produce cost- effective engineering solutions that are fit for purpose, safe and add value
- Address operational and maintenance issues in the design and liaise with colleagues for the best solution
- Undertake surveys, both onshore and offshore

- Enjoy team working, will be customer and quality focused, can use their own initiative and will be responsive to our business and client needs.
- Have a HND or similar in a relevant subject
- Have previous experience in detail design and design checking with an understanding of other disciplines.
- Have experience 3D modelling of piping, supports and equipment using AutoCAd Plant 3D.
- Be experienced drafting Isometrics and pipe supports using AutoCAD 2D.
- Experienced in cloud scan data management such as ReCap pro.
- Have significant Brownfield experience
- Drilling Facilities experience would be advantageous
