Job description

The Role and Team


Working as part of the finance administration team you will undertake a wide range of duties extending into different areas of the finance function and will be supported with on the job training for new roles and responsibilities.

 

This role supports functions of the purchase ledger, credit control, accounts payable and accounts receivable departments. You will work mainly on SAP, Softco and Microsoft. 


This is an ideal position for someone looking to increase their general knowledge and understanding of the working practises of a busy finance department without restricting themselves to any particular area of finance and accounting.


This is a full time position of 37.5 hours per week, working 8:30am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday with a one hour lunch break.


We are also able to consider AAT and CIMA training support for those wanting to gain professional qualifications.

 

You will work from our Trowbridge head-office at least 3 days a week, with the option to work from home up to 2 days per week- once fully trained and competent to work independently.

- Undertaking all aspects of the day to day administration of the Sales Ledger.
- Updating and confirming all deliveries made to ensure that the invoices issued to customers accurately reflect the goods delivered.
- Issuing credit notes and subsequent invoices to correct any billing errors.
- Administering the various meals on wheels contract delivered across the UK by apetito and Wiltshire Farm Foods.

- Collecting and allocating various credit card payments from our customers.
- Providing organized and structured management data to our customers and other departments within the company.
- Work in partnership with our customers and other internal departments to ensure that any issues arising from the invoices issued are resolved to the satisfaction of the customer in a timely manner.

- Responding to emails and telephone calls from our customers, answering their enquiries and providing any information requested in a reasonable and timely manner.
- Utilising various software packages and processes to ensure that all anti-fraud measures are carried out to the highest standards.
- Any other duties commensurate with the level of salary.


Essential:

- GCSE (or equivalent) Maths and English.
- Previous experience of working within an office environment.
- Previous experience of dealing with customers in both written and verbal formats.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Access and Outlook packages.
- Able to demonstrate a high degree of accuracy.

- Business studies or finance qualification.
- Part or fully AAT qualified.
- Previous experience of working within a finance administration role.
- Experience of working with SAP accounting packages.
- Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel and Access to an advanced level.
