Hours: Monday – Friday Between 07:00 – 17:00

Due to continued growth and expansion we are currently looking to recruit an Estimator to join our business in Derbyshire on a permanent basis.
Working within the Pre-Construction department the ideal applicant will be required to work closely with and build relationships with clients and suppliers to facilitate high quality, competitive and compliant tender submissions with a typical project ranging from £25k to £3m in value.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review drawings and specifications and undertake take-offs as required
- Knowledge of labour outputs and pricing using first principles
- Preparing and submitting achievable and cost-effective quotations ensuring they meet the requirements of the business
- To obtain the best supplier and sub-contract prices and evaluate the best proposal
- Assess the most cost-efficient method of completing the works and accurately price all elements of the works, in order produce a competitive quotation
- Determining contractual, financial, technical and operational risks and finding opportunities to minimise risk and maximise gross profit
- Leading clear and concise handover meetings with the Implementation teams ensuring that all relevant pricing information is thoroughly explained
- Maintaining effective communication with clients, suppliers and implementation teams
Experience and Skills:
- Methodical, conscientious and organised, working to deliver high standards
- Must have a full understanding of current market conditions and rates with a developed knowledge of Civils & Groundworks
- Good financial and numeracy management skills
- Able to work under pressure and to strict deadlines
- Able to work on own initiative, with the drive to take ownership of projects
- Excellent problem-solving skills with good decision making
- The ability to absorb complex information and asses’ requirements readily
- Trustworthiness and discretion when handling confidential information
- Team player, and supportive of colleagues
- Flexibility to travel across sites and with a full UK driving licence
- Computer literate with Excel, MS Word, MS Project, MS PowerPoint
