An exciting opportunity has now arisen within the Ashford, Tenterden and Whitfield Agency.
About the role:
To support the Agency’s business strategy of significant growth in the commercial sector by building effective relationships, delivering on commercial sales targets, and ensuring customers receive the highest level of customer service by providing a compliant and appropriate insurance and risk management programme.
- Acquire and maintain knowledge of NFU Mutual and National Intermediary Services (NIS) products.
- Proactively contribute to the building of our new business sales pipeline and build and develop relationships with prospects.
- Deliver sales targets by planning, developing, and delivering sales opportunities.
- Review, design and advise mid-corporate and complex corporate clients on their insurance portfolios to ensure that the policy is providing peace of mind to the client.
- Positively impact sales through identifying and securing upsell and cross sales opportunities (including our financial services and risk management services).
- Plan and implement effective sales and marketing initiatives.
- Build long term relationships with our broker arm (NIS), to become agency expert in insurance lines that are not underwritten by the NFU Mutual.
- Coach and develop other commercially licensed sellers within the agency.
- Produce up-to-date records for every customer interaction and contact, ensuring all notes are captured clearly, accurately, and timely.
- Consistently provide excellent levels of customer service in all interactions with potential and existing customers, delivering on commitments, meeting their needs, and exceeding expectations.
- Always demonstrate high values of trust and integrity, acting as a positive role model in line with the values and ethos of the Agency.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships within the Agency team and all relevant key contacts and teams within NFU Mutual.
- Ensure all duties are carried out in a way which complies with relevant external legislation and regulation, NFU Mutual compliance and other procedures and local Agency policies and processes.
- Deliver ad-hoc projects and/or other duties as required, to support the delivery of business strategy and enhance customer experience.
Essential:
- Proven track record in highly driven and ambitious targeted sales role.
- Proven track record in advising commercial customers on their insurance needs
- Proven track record delivering excellent customer service
- Effective and professional verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Good IT skills especially Microsoft Office and the ability to effectively use NFU Mutual systems
- Good maths and problem-solving skills
- Able to manage own workload and able to work effectively under pressure
- Great team working and ability to build effective relationships through positive behaviours, honesty, and integrity.
- Focus on continuous improvement, able to use own initiative
- Demonstrate commitment to quality and compliance with procedures/regulations using due care, skill, and diligence
- Desire to be the best, openness to personal development, learning new skills
- Own transport & full UK driving licence
Desirable:
- Knowledge of NFU Mutual products/ NFU Mutual product licences
- Proven track record in advising large / corporate commercial customers on their insurance needs
- General insurance qualifications e.g., Cert. CII or Dip. CII (or equivalent qualifications)
- Experience using Microsoft Dynamics
- Knowledge of/connection to farming/rural/estates sector
