The Ridgeway School is an Outstanding specialist school for children aged 2-19 with severe and profound multiple learning difficulties and works to a vision where each young person can express themselves, widen their worlds and enable them to access lifelong opportunities. They offer a personalised curriculum focussing on communication, independence, social and emotional wellbeing, and physical and sensory development providing foundations for future learning and improving individual life outcomes enabling each young person to live a life as full as possible.
Due to a retirement, the Headteacher is seeking to appoint an aspirational Deputy Headteacher who shares the child-centred ethos of the school. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside the Headteacher and wider staff team in shaping the very best practice as the school strives to become a beacon of excellence for SEND. The setting offers a learning culture full of skilled, dedicated, and passionate staff creating a warm and welcoming environment which they are all extremely proud of.
The new Deputy Headteacher will be an exceptional teacher and ambitious school leader restless in their pursuit of better, challenging the “status quo” and enabling new possibilities for the children whilst actively developing their own professional learning contributing to The Ridgeway’s positive and supportive culture. As a person-centred and solution focused practitioner who can connect with each member of the school’s community as an individual, the Deputy Headteacher will contribute to creating a provision that is child-centred, innovative, and collaborative.
