Job description
Volunteer and make a difference at Langdon College - Governor Role
Langdon College provides an exciting and flexible programme of study for students with learning difficulties, disabilities, social anxiety or autistic spectrum disorders, who are aged 16–24 years and who have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). We have campuses in Manchester and London.
As a Jewish College we ensure our students experience a supportive, nurturing and culturally appropriate learning environment.
With a clear focus on the Preparation for Adulthood agenda, students are fully prepared for their next steps into adulthood, whether this is to gain employment/volunteer work, increase independence skills or gain qualifications.
For the college, the main advantage of having you join our governing board is the expertise and experience you can bring to the role. Knowledge of Post 16 education, improving outcomes in education or special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) will greatly improve the effectiveness of our governing board and have a positive impact on the education of our students. Ideally, you will also have one of the following experiences.
We are committed to the governing board being reflective of the community the college serves to help it make better decisions in the interest of all students. We are committed to the diversity of our college, and we would like our governing board membership to demonstrate this.
The board is passionate about education and committed to continuous college improvement to ensure the best possible outcomes for our students. We hope that you might be interested in becoming a governor. We’re happy to talk with you or arrange a visit to the college. If you’d like to find out more, please email [email protected] .
