Are you a Data Engineer who is passionate about cloud data technologies?
We are a FTSE 250, global wide recruitment consultancy who are the game changers in STEM recruitment. We are undergoing our biggest digital transformation to date, and we are looking for an Azure Data Engineer to join the team and lead the successful design and execution of our cloud data technologies.
As the Azure Data Engineer you will be accountable for developing solutions on the Azure data platform and integrating with the legacy databases where necessary and supporting the business for any data migration between systems, new additions to the data platform and providing data sources for the powerBI reporting team.
This will be a hybrid role with 1 day a week in the office which would be every Wednesday. You will be able to work from our central London or Glasgow offices, whichever is closest to you.
What you'll be doing:
- Identify and implement data pipelines, develop scripts and applications deploy, and migrate systems for IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS environments.
- Design, build, and maintain data pipelines to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources into data storage systems or data warehouses.
- Integrate data from multiple sources, including databases, APIs, files, and streaming platforms, ensuring smooth data flow and efficient data processing.
- Develop and maintain data models that support efficient data storage, retrieval, and analysis. This includes defining database schemes, data structures, and optimising data access patterns.
- Perform data transformations, cleansing, and aggregation to prepare data for analysis, reporting, and other downstream applications.
- Monitor and optimise the performance of data pipelines and processes, identifying and resolving bottlenecks to ensure efficient data processing and retrieval.
- Implement data security measures, access controls, and data encryption techniques to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with data privacy regulations.

What we're looking for:
- Significant experience in the development of data solutions within Microsoft SQL Server & Azure, utilising functionality such as of SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), Azure Data Factory/Lake, PowerBI, Logic and Function Apps and Azure SQL.
- In depth knowledge of data transformations, pipelines, structured and unstructured data and data ingestion from various sources such as blob, Excel, API.
- Strong experience of working in an Agile delivery team and producing and deploying applications in a production environment through a CI/CD pipeline.
- Experience with building enterprise-level services, predominantly using Azure.
- Experience of working within a DevOps environment.
