Job description

SITE MANAGER

Reporting directly to the Area Manager

MAIN DUTIES: (Not necessarily in order of importance)

  1. New Contracts
  1. Assist Area Manager in start-up procedures including client liaison, ordering of stores/equipment, and putting in place all necessary systems.
  1. Client liaison If instructed by Area Manager
  1. Finance
  1. Ensure that the budget is adhered to, and levels of expenditure are within the set targets.
  1. Ensure that the client has sufficient resources.
  1. Quality
  1. Adhere to the Company's quality management system.
  1. Personnel
  1. Be responsible for the motivation, discipline, safety, and general welfare of all cleaning operatives.
  1. Promote sound industrial relations.
  1. Attend meetings as requested by Area Manager.
  1. Ensure that client site staff adhere to the Company's system and procedures as laid down in relevant documentation.
  1. Assist the Area Manager, to ensure that the training and development of all on site staff is carried out and that training plans and programmes are properly installed.
  1. In accordance with Company guidelines, monitor all Health & Safety procedures and practices.
  1. Provide support for on-site cleaning teams.
  1. Adhere to the Company's Equality & Diversity policy.
  1. Ensure strict compliance with statutory and Company practices and procedures regarding employment and health and safety legislation.
  1. Customer Relations
  1. Maintain regular and direct contact with Key personnel.
  1. Respond quickly to complaints.
  1. Other duties as directed by the Area Manager
  1. Carry out any other duties as required from time to time by the Company.

COMPLEXITY OF THE POSITION

The job holder must be self-motivated.

He/she must be able to use his/her own initiative.

The job is creative and requires a wide vision, new ideas and the ability to see them through.

The job holder must be proactive, and also have the ability to react fast to a difficult situation.

He/she must be highly organised and able to manage his/her own time effectively.

Must be able to communicate with people at all levels, be approachable and a good listener.

The job holder should ensure that he/she understands all functions and roles of others relevant to his/her own.

The job holder must always present a professional image.

LIMITS OF AUTHORITY

Discipline: Must inform Area Manager prior to disciplinary/ termination action for Contract management.

KNOWLEDGE

Education: Of GCSE/CSE/O Level Standard English and Maths.

Experience

Extensive experience in managing cleaning staff.

Experience in customer liaison
