Primary school located in the heart of Bury St. Edmunds, as a dedicated Teaching Assistant!
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic team. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the teaching and learning activities in our school, helping to create a positive and nurturing environment where every child can thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support classroom teachers in delivering engaging and differentiated lessons, providing one-to-one or small group assistance to students as directed.
- Assist with the preparation of teaching materials and resources, ensuring they are accessible and appropriate for students' learning needs.
- Foster positive relationships with students, promoting a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all children feel valued and respected.
- Help to manage behavior and promote positive behavior strategies, reinforcing school policies and expectations consistently.
- Support students with special educational needs (SEN) or additional learning needs, implementing individualized support plans and accommodations as required.
- Contribute to the assessment and monitoring of students' progress, providing feedback to teachers and helping to maintain accurate records of achievement.
- Collaborate with colleagues and external professionals to meet the diverse needs of students and promote their overall well-being and development.
- Participate in school-wide events and activities, contributing to the wider life of the school community and fostering positive relationships with parents and carers.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Previous experience working with children in an educational setting is desirable but not essential.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate children of varying ages and abilities.
- A patient and empathetic approach, with a genuine passion for supporting children's learning and well-being.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team, collaborating with colleagues and following guidance from classroom teachers.
- Flexibility and adaptability, with a willingness to assist with a range of tasks and activities as required.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
