Job description
Design Engineer / Mechanical Engineer required to join a manufacturer based near Rochdale, Lancashire. You’ll be working in a design office environment, whilst providing design solutions to technical problems within the food and process industry.
The Design Engineer will have a mechanical design background, using 3D CAD and AutoCAD would be beneficial.
Package £38,000 - £42,000 Depending on experience

Role - Design turkey solutions including both bespoke and standard equipment
- Using AutoCAD and 3D CAD to create the designs.
- Undertake calculations using design software but also by hand as required
- Management of small projects.
- Working on design projects within the food / process plant industry
- To help create cost saving ideas and designs
- Provide knowledge and offer guidance to others, on Statutory Regulations and Codes of Practices. (Eg: EN standards for design, CE marking of machinery, Pressure vessel codes and directives etc).
- Liaise with various engineering departments
- Hours: Monday – Thursday 8.30am -5.00pm, Friday 8.30am – 2.00pm
- Office based near Rochdale, Lancashire.
Requirements - Experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer, Project Engineer (design experience), Mechanical Engineer, Draughtsman or similar.
- A background in mechanical design
- 3D CAD experience is essential - Knowledge of AutoCAD would be beneficial.
- Willing to commute to the office near Rochdale, Lancashire
