Job description
Pure Resourcing is collaborating with a global logistics firm in the search for a Land Freight Operator to join our Land Freight Team in the Manchester Office.
Role Overview: The position involves overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Land (North) imports/exports accounts. This office-based role requires a dedicated professional to contribute to the efficiency and success of our Land Freight operations.
Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 08:30 am – 5:30 pm (inclusive of one-hour unpaid lunch).
Salary: £24,000 - £28,000 per annum (Depending on experience).
Duties and Responsibilities:- Assist the Land Freight supervisor in executing duties in line with the company's vision.
- Implement good business development practices for successful land road freight, warehouse operations, and logistics products import/export.
- Oversee client and sub-contractor management in accordance with SOPs.
- Ensure accurate and timely customer and client invoicing in line with SOPs.
- Complete all import/export activities accurately and on time, covering financial, legal, and invoicing transactions.
- Ensure timely completion of all operational activities.
- Maintain regular communication with sales teams, reporting new leads and facilitating shipment handovers.
- Communicate quotations promptly to the line manager/sales team and record all quotations on the system.
- Report internal leads to customer services and sales teams.
- Follow up on late customer payments in collaboration with credit control.
Skills & Competency:- Previous experience as a Land Freight Operator or in a similar role (preferably over one year).
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks or projects simultaneously.
- Effective prioritization and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in IT skills (Microsoft Office Suite and CRM systems).
- Demonstrated administrative background.
- Analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail.
