Job summary: The Estates department are responsible for ensuring the safety and continuity of the Engineering and building infrastructure across all West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust owned sites. The Estates Technician will form a core part of this service delivering specialist engineering knowledge and skills to ensure plant and systems are maintained and operated to the highest possible quality. Job responsibilities: Key Tasks & Responsibilities: To provide technical assistance for mechanical / electrical staff and contractors ensuring compliance with Trust safety standards and procedures. To undertake complex fault diagnosis on Mechanical and electrical services and fault rectification, maintenance, and M&E installation work across the Trust. To undertake special Departmental projects as identified by the Estates Manager, Estates Officers and or Team Leaders. Be fully conversant on the Estates Decontamination equipment, for washer disinfectors and sterilisers. Undertake all aspects of testing, insurance inspections and monitoring of decontamination equipment, pressure vessels and lifting equipment. To undertake the duties of an Authorised Person (AP) or Competent Person (CP) for specific engineering disciplines as required to do so by the Estates Managers. To deputise for the Team Leaders at times of absence when delegated the authority to do so. The post holder will report to the Estates Team Leaders on a daily basis
