Maintenance Personnel - Part Time

About Elmley:

Elmley is a family-run rural estate with an internationally renowned nature reserve, award-winning accommodation and events business and wildlife-friendly farm on an island off the coast of Kent. We have set out to ensure that our events and accommodation offering does justice to the beauty of the landscape and nature, whilst ensuring that conservation and sustainability are at the heart of everything we do.

The role:

It is a busy and hands-on position, ensuring our high standards are kept in the accommodation, communal spaces and gardens around Kingshill Farm.

The role entails:

• Performing repairs as and when necessary, as well as performing preventative maintenance.
• Checking and changing fuel supplies e.g. gas bottles and tanks.
• Conducting routine inspections across the site and of equipment.
• Ordering supplies and making the best use of stock/parts.
• Assisting with moving equipment and furniture for the weddings held on-site.

Who we are looking for?
We are looking for someone who has:

• Proven maintenance experience with a proactive approach.
• Skilled in the use of hand and power tools.
• The ability to manage your time efficiently and work well unsupervised.
• The ability to lift and transport heavy loads.
• A friendly and welcoming approach.

Position details:

• Part-time role, 2-3 days a week

Due to the nature of the role weekend work and longer days will be required on rotation, particularly in the summer months.

Kingshill Farm, Elmley Nature Reserve, Sheerness, Kent ME12 3RW will be the place of work. Note if researching location using online maps, please note that some apps will add 30 minutes to the journey time to account for a footpath, so please use ME12 3RN instead.

Elmley is located in North Kent it is 30 mins from Faversham, Maidstone and the Medway Towns, 45 mins from Canterbury and 1 hour from South London.

Due to the rural location own transport is required.
