Band 5 to 6 Occupational Therapist (Developmental Role)

Starting at £34,089 (Band 5) with view to progress to £42,471 (Band 6) once competencies met

Full time 37.5hrs per week

The Royal Free London is excited to announce a new opportunity for qualified and motivated Band 5 Occupational Therapists, with acute experience, looking to develop their skills to a Band 6 level.

Post holders will be receive regular supervision and support to help meet the set competencies required to fulfil a Band 6 role. The post will be rotational, happening on a 9 monthly basis. The areas that you will be supported in to deliver world class care include:
• Vascular and Amputees
• Trauma and Orthopaedics
• Hand Therapy
• Health Services for Older People
• Rapid Response/A&E
• Acute Stroke and Neurology
• Complex Medical

Successful candidates are required to demonstrate the Trust values, the responsibilities of the job description and person specification, and will be guided by a set of internally-made competencies as guided by the Royal College of Occupational Therapy's (RCOT) Career Development Framework.

The role is a rotational post and duties will be to independently carry a caseload of patients and support their inpatient therapy and rehabilitation. A key part of the role will be to support discharge planning and enabling people to return home if they are able to. We have ongoing projects supporting therapists to think ‘home first’- this will be key in the role and work the successful candidate can be involved in. There will be opportunity to supervise and line manage more junior members of staff and share your knowledge and expertise.
