We have a fantastic opportunity to recruit a Occupational Therapist to work in our dedicated stroke team at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King’s Lynn. You will provide specialist assessments to patients on the hyperacute and acute setting and within the community setting, providing intensive rehabilitation for patients to gain maximum independence following their stroke. You will work closely with members of the multi-disciplinary team to deliver holistic, patient centred care that is provided in line with the National Stroke Guidelines. The stroke team is a friendly, supportive team who place a high value on staff development and learning opportunities as part of your continuous professional development. To monitor, evaluate and modify treatment for patients to measure progress and ensure effectiveness of intervention. To organise and deliver individual and group treatment sessions in a variety of venues including the department, ward, and patient’s home To demonstrate a good level of understanding of the effects of stroke To actively participate in multi-disciplinary meetings to feedback Information about the occupational therapy element of treatment, changes in the patient's condition and support the team in the progress of treatment planning To provide advice, education and support to patients, relatives, carers, and other staff member to promote a patient centred approach to support meaningful participation in life roles. To communicate effectively with patients and carers, whilst addressing cultural, religious and language barriers, to maximise rehabilitation potential and to ensure understanding of condition and address anxieties and concerns.
