CREDIT CONTROLLER - £33k - 12 MONTH FTC - THAME - HYRBID
We are delighted to be working with a business in Thame that are looking for a full-time Credit Controller to join the team on a 12 month contract - offering up to £33,000 with hybrid working!
As a part of the credit control team and reporting to the Finance Manager, your responsibilities will include monitoring debtors, minimising overdue balances, and aiding in the resolution of business-to-business queries. Acting as a crucial point of contact for the company regarding debtor-related matters, you will be instrumental in developing, maintaining, and enhancing relationships with customers. Your role will focus on maximising cash collections and minimising bad debt exposure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a key point of contact for the business regarding debtor-related queries or issues.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Monitor Debtor Accounts, proactively collect overdue balances, and identify consistent late payers or problem behaviours.
- Provide detailed feedback on high-risk customers.
- Identify and mitigate risk, reporting issues to the Finance Manager during weekly meetings.
- Focus on aged debt and customer deductions offset against remittances.
- Ensure regular system updates for transparency and availability of current information/reports.
- Collaborate with the business to drive process improvements related to cash collection and query resolution, working closely with AR.
- Build strong B2B relationships with external AP departments to resolve queries and improve collaboration.
- Minimise the risk of bad and doubtful debts through credit management best practices.
- Provide information internally and externally to support organisational operations.
- Perform ad hoc AR activities as required, including but not limited to PO numbers, updating existing reports, proformas, and issuing statements and reminder letters.
Skills required:
- Confident/effective telephone manner and written communication skills (advantage to have worked within a Business-to-Business environment).
- Ability to communicate and build strong working relationships at all levels.
- Team player with the ability to work independently.
- Self-motivated and adaptable to change.
- Intermediate proficiency in Word, Outlook, and Excel (V-lookup, Pivot tables).
- High numerical ability and accuracy and exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent administration and organisational abilities.
- Strong time management and prioritisation skills.
- Awareness of the importance of quality procedures and focus.
- Problem-solving skills with a proactive attitude.
- Commercial background alongside excellent customer service skills.
