THE COMPANY

Our client, an established business based in Cannock, are recruiting for an AAT Accounts Assistant for a permanent contract. Our client is a well-known company in the local area, a leader in their field, who are experiencing a period of growth.

REQUIREMENTS

Ideally you will have worked or want to work in a practice environment, possess excellent accounting skills and have a good knowledge of recognised software applications (Word, Excel, Outlook). You will be keen to play an active role in a dynamic team and willing to contribute to the success and development of the team and the firm as a whole. Be passionate about providing great client service and be excellent at communicating with people at all levels – face to face and in writing. Support will be given, where appropriate, to continue professional development towards the AAT, ACCA or ACA qualification.

COMPANY BENEFITS

The company offer excellent working conditions and onsite parking. Working hours 37.5 per week starting at 8.30am – 5.00pm with 1/2hour lunch within a relaxed environment in a friendly team. Parking and on-site canteen plus other benefits.

THE ROLE

You will be working for a Cannock based accountancy practice as an AAT Accounts Assistant. You will be trained up and supported to prepare accounts for sole traders, partnerships and audit exempt limited companies within a portfolio of clients. This work will include income and corporation tax computations. You will also perform some book-keeping duties, prepare VAT Returns, and cash flow forecasts and projections and also be responsible for seeing client face to face. You will have 2 years experience in a practice environment, possess excellent accounting skills and have a good knowledge of recognised software applications (Word, Excel, Outlook). You will also have excellent working knowledge of Sage and possess knowledge of income/corporation tax. You will be keen to play an active role in a dynamic team and willing to contribute to the success and development of the team and the firm as a whole. Be passionate about providing great client service and be excellent at communicating with people at all levels – face to face and in writing. Support will be given, where appropriate, to continue professional development towards the AAT, ACCA or ACA qualification.
