The ideal candidate for these Mechanical and Electrical roles will have experience of working in a similar environment, such as manufacturing, industrial or automated, supporting maintenance work.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Carry out routine inspections and either repair or report defects to management.
- Ensure that the current plant equipment is correctly maintained on a day-to-day basis, allowing it to be operated to its maximum efficiency and capability to meet business KPI’s.
- Improve machinery and facilities reliability through maintenance activities, modification, and good engineering practises.
- Carry out routine maintenance activities ensuring equipment performance is maintained and optimised.
- Carry out fault-finding and repairs in breakdown situations, using engineering drawings and machine manuals.
- Assist the team to maintain spare parts stores stock levels and records.
- Work alongside external suppliers / contractors
- Proactively identifying potential faults and improvement opportunities on the plant equipment to prevent future failures or to identify more efficient methods of work.
- Comply fully with all safety instructions, policies, and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all staff.
- Carry out any other such reasonable job-related tasks as the company may require you to undertake from time to time.
Experience Required
- Ability to solve problems via advanced technical knowledge, root cause analysis, and theory testing.
- An awareness of health and safety in the workplace
- Knowledge of mechanical, pneumatics, and hydraulics
- Ability to demonstrate understanding of process plant and maintenance/repair.
- Able to deal with conflicting pressures of work in an effective and timely manner.
- Ability to plan, organise, and prioritise.
- Willingness to learn new skills.
- Ability to efficiently use I.T technology and CMMS
- Electrical qualified and competent, preferably HNC Mechanical, Electrical or Electronic Engineering or equivalent
- Ability to read and interpret electrical/mechanical drawings.
- Electrical/Mechanical fault diagnosis
Hours of work + Salary
- 38 – 40k DOE
- Day shift and Back Shift Monday to Friday with some weekend’s dependent on the business needs
