Location: Marischal College, Broad Street, Aberdeen
Duration: Fixed Term, Full Time The post can be accepted on a secondment basis however prior approval is required from your line manager. We are also willing to consider applications on a part time basis.
Roles that require PVG Membership
Please note that with effect from 1 April 2023, where a role requires PVG membership, candidates will be required to meet the cost of the PVG membership. This applies only to roles with a full time equivalent salary of £30,000 and above. (Teaching roles and jobs at Grade 12 and above (currently £32,555 per annum / £16.92 per hour)
The Council will pay for the PVG membership cost initially, either £18 for existing PVG scheme members, or £59 for non-members, and this cost will be deducted from an employee’s first FULL month’s salary payment.
About the role
The successful postholders will:
The post holder will be required to specifically focus on Right of Access - Subject Access Requests due to demand in this area. This involves accurately processing subject access requests from people with experience of care, ensuring compliance with legislation, regulations, and policies. The post holder will need to redact and quality assure records prior to disclosure, to ensure a consistent approach and the inclusion of appropriate data only.
People you engage with may be vulnerable or at risk in society, with lived experience of care and or identify as survivor victims of abuse and you should have experience in understanding their needs. As the roles will be challenging, being attune to your own emotional responses is key.
Degree in a relevant subject or a cognate discipline, or equivalent.
