Service Engineer - Doncaster Area

About the Role: As a Field Service Engineer at Altegra, you will play a crucial role in meeting the daily service maintenance and repair needs of our customers and Altegra-owned equipment. The position requires establishing and maintaining strong business relationships with customers and peers. In addition to hands-on technical responsibilities, the Field Service Engineer will be expected to perform necessary administrative duties and other tasks as assigned.
Responsibilities: On a day-to-day basis, the Field Service Engineer will:
- Perform repairs and maintenance using correct tools and equipment, following approved techniques.
- Utilize standard computer applications, internet, and manufacturers' service portals effectively.
- Operate and test vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes.
- Demonstrate familiarity with manufacturers' products.
- Conduct diagnostics and repairs on forklift trucks and other machinery in a field environment.
- Complete all required reports and administration in a timely and high-quality manner.
- Adhere to all safety rules and regulations.
- Participate in training programs to continuously develop skills and knowledge.
- Maintain a clean work environment, ensuring the correct use of tools and vehicles at all times.
Candidate Requirements: We are seeking candidates with the following qualifications:
- Preferred experience in performing service repairs in the forklift industry.
- Proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Previous experience working in an engineering capacity.
- Previous electrical experience is desirable.
- Full driving license.
- Good IT skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to work well on own initiative.
- Willingness to work extended hours and weekends if required.
- Self-motivated and proactive.
- Ability to work collaboratively as a member of the Aftersales Team.
