Job Title: Accounts Senior
Location: Newport Office
Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday); standard office hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM with flexibility to meet specific work demands and client office hours.
Job Description:
The Accounts Senior will play a pivotal role within the Business Advisory Department, acting as the primary liaison with clients and overseeing the timely completion of accounts assignments. Responsibilities include maintaining technical proficiency, preparing and finalizing limited company accounts, utilizing accounting software, reconciling control accounts, assisting junior colleagues, preparing management accounts, addressing ad hoc client queries, and ensuring effective communication with management.
Must have Accounts Practice experience.
Main Duties
Maintain and enhance technical proficiency through participation in webinars and staying updated on industry developments.
Prepare and finalize limited company accounts.
Proficiently utilize Xero and other accountancy software.
Reconcile control accounts accurately.
Provide support and guidance to junior colleagues.
Prepare management accounts.
Address ad hoc client queries promptly and efficiently.
Act as the primary point of contact for clients during the accounts process.
Keep management informed of work progress and any emerging issues.
Notify management of potential time overruns and seek resolution.
Ensure resolution of review points and address follow-up queries until accounts are finalized and signed.
Skills
Approachable demeanour and ability to effectively communicate technical points to colleagues.
Extensive experience in limited company accounts.
Proficiency in Pro Audit (auto automation) and CCH Accounts Production preferred.
Previous experience in a senior role overseeing junior staff.
Exemplify professionalism and leadership within the team.
Maintain objectivity, professionalism, and independence in client interactions.
Comfortable discussing difficult or contentious matters directly with clients.
Present oneself professionally at all times, including appropriate attire and communication.
