Independent Reviewing Officer

Description
As an Independent Reviewing Officer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of children and young people who are in the care of local authorities. This is a dynamic and challenging role that requires a high level of sensitivity, professionalism, and attention to detail. By conducting independent reviews of care plans and monitoring the progress and outcomes of children in care, you will help to safeguard their rights and promote their best interests.

Responsibilities
Conducting independent reviews of care plans and making recommendations for improvements.
Chairing reviews and meetings with relevant parties, including social workers, foster carers, and other professionals involved in the child's care.
Monitoring the implementation of care plans and ensuring that they are meeting the needs of the child or young person.
Collaborating with local authorities and other agencies to ensure that appropriate support services are provided to children and families.
Providing guidance and support to social workers and other professionals working with children in care.
Keeping accurate records of all reviews and ensuring that they are submitted in a timely manner.
Keeping up to date with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to children in care.
Requirements
A relevant degree or professional qualification in social work, youth work, or a related field.
Proven experience in conducting independent reviews and working with children and families in a social care setting.
Excellent knowledge of legislation and policies related to child protection and safeguarding.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and professionals.
Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to work independently, managing a demanding workload and meeting deadlines.
Ability to analyze complex information and make informed decisions.
Commitment to continuous professional development and staying abreast of best practices in child protection and care.

Hours Per Week: 37.00
Start Time: 08:30
End Time: 17:00
Pay Per Hour: £31.73
Location: Nottingham, Nottinghamshire
