An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Laser Operator to join a very successful, secure and growing business in the Sheffield area. They are a worldwide company with almost 300 employees and are very well established within their industry. As a Laser Operator you will be working within a production cell that produces fabrication parts from sheet/plate using a CNC Bystronic Laser. Working with job cards your daily duties will include:

• Setting and operating the laser to cut a range of material/ thicknesses ensuring quality of cut is clean and free from burrs whilst maintaining optimum cutting parameters.
• Retrieving and loading part- nest programs created by the laser programmer for daily component requirements, adhering to manufacturing schedule.
• Ensure that raw materials are available in the set locations and loaded in the scheduled cutting order by grade and thickness.
• Unload by hand, count and reference laser cut component from nest. Deburr parts if necessary up date cutting schedule and highlight any shortages,
• Accurately use PMC/ Movex ERP and Excel to update/ confirm manufacturers.
• Using measuring equipment including Verniers and Calipers.
• Maintain stock consumable parts.
• Monitoring gas levels and usage.

This role would ideally suit someone who has worked as a CNC Laser Operator, CNC Press Brake Operator or Bystronic Operator within a laser cutting, metal cutting or CNC environment.
