Hutcheon Mearns are delighted to be supporting a leading marine infrastructure support company to recruit an experienced finance professional into the role of finance Director. Boastingthe largest wholly UK-owned fleet dedicated to the North Sea region and an extensive track record, they offer unparalleled operational expertise, delivering comprehensive support and mission critical services. The Finance Director will be responsible for all aspects of financial reporting (management and statutory), treasury, audit, tax and related analysis, alongside the production and presentation of financial performance summaries required for management review and investor reporting. The position will directly report to the Chief Financial Officer and haveclose working relationships with senior leadership team. The role will monitorand report onmedium-term cash flow and treasury, manageand developthe finance team, and maintain/support theongoing development of financial management controls to preserve company assets and report accurate financial results. The successful candidate will be skilled in the management of external relationships including those related to audit, tax advice and banking., as well as being proficient in supporting information requirements for current and potential investors.

Financial Information & Control

• Maintain management controls in line with company policy
• Develop and monitor control systems suitable for the company’s risk profile
• Ensure financial transactions are recorded in line with company accounting policies
• Oversight of preparation of monthly and annual financial reporting (management and statutory accounts)
• Responsible for management of audit relationship and process
• Reporting of financial results to other senior managers and investors
• Develop and report on key performance indicators that support the company’s strategic direction
• Responsible for company tax reporting in conjunction with external advisers

Planning

• Lead annual budgeting process
• Control over medium term cash flow forecasting, monitoring of treasury transactions
• Participate in key decisions as a member of the management team
• Develop and implement financial and tax planning strategies
• Management of company tax planning requirements in conjunction with external advisers

People & Process Management

• Monitoring of training, professional development requirements within finance department
• Supervise financial assistants and other employees in the facilitation of day-to-day operations, including tracking financial data, invoicing, payroll, etc.
• Supporting training of other departments in relation to transaction processing
• Actively promoting inter-departmental communications
• Support company wide process improvement initiatives related to finance department
• Actively promoting and progressing the company Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental Policy
• Undertake ad-hoc projects as required

Risk

• Member of company audit & risk committee, responsible for driving financial elements of committee reporting and ownership of related actions
• Understand and mitigate key elements of the company’s risk profile
• Participate in analysis of company insurance strategy, produce information required for insurers
• Treasury management

The successful candidate will be a Qualified Accountant with several years of experience in a senior finance position.Experience in and infrastructure/asset heavy business is strongly preferred, as is experience of private equity backed, highly geared businesses.
