Senior Programme Manager

Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences, Radcliffe Observatory Quarter, Woodstock Road, Oxford

Applications are invited for a Senior Programme Manager , to work with a team working with Professor Ben Goldacre and the Bennett Institute for Applied Data Science on the NHS England OpenSAFELY Service - a secure analytics platform, which provides research access to full GP records for 58M people, and facilitates efficient and reproducible analyses while fully protecting confidentiality at all times.

The successful applicant will play a pivotal role in managing and implementing the multi-year contract with NHS England, and will establish and lead a wider Project and Finance Management Function within the Bennett Institute, including recruiting support staff as required. Responsibilities will include leading and coordinating all aspects of formal project and financial management, including planning, reporting, budgeting and risk management.

You will be an experienced project manager, able to work across competing priorities and provide strategic advice to senior leaders on progress, risks and options, to inform decision making. You will have strong people skills, and be able to work effectively with colleagues, stakeholders and staff. This role will be challenging and rewarding, and provide an outstanding opportunity to develop your career in Programme Management while working on a project of significant value to the country.

You will be based in the Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences, Radcliffe Primary Care Building, Woodstock Road, Oxford, OX2 6GG as your normal place of work, but you will be able to agree a pattern of regular remote working with your line manager.

The position is funded by NHS England, until 31st October 2026 in the first instance.
