Applications are invited from enthusiastic, clinically experienced and motivated individuals for a permanent Band 7 Team Lead to join the Mental Health Homeless Team (MHHT). The Brighton & Hove Mental Health Homeless Team is based in East Brighton Community Mental Health Centre.
Our service is a well-regarded multidisciplinary team that delivers specialist support and clinical interventions to adults with severe and complex mental health difficulties who are rough sleeping or in insecure accommodation. Main duties of the job MHHT is a small multi-disciplinary specialist Team providing assessment, treatment and support to homeless or insecurely housed people who have a severe and enduring mental illness and who may have additional substance misuse problems. You will conduct complex assessments and risk assessments in a variety of settings and manage a complex caseload as a lead practitioner providing a direct, assertive outreach service, working in partnership with other local homeless agencies from both the statutory and voluntary sector. You will require a basic understanding of housing legislation as it relates to Brighton and Hove and be familiar with recent changes in social legislation as it relates to this client group.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities The post holder will demonstrate creativity and flexibility with strong leadership skills, proven team work skills, excellent interpersonal skills and some experience of leadership.
You will have the skills and personal qualities to work with people to get the best out of them, in order to deliver a compassionate, person-centred and high quality service to our service users, carers and stakeholders .You will have an ability to work under pressure and support staff wellbeing and resilience in managing the demands of the clinical work
The service has recently been awarded NHS England funding to enhance the existing Mental Health Homeless Team and you will have a key role in supporting the clinical lead in the development of the team and it's contribution to the homeless strategy across the city.
Person specification Qualifications Essential criteria - Educated to minimum diploma level with a relevant qualification or equivalent experience.
- Evidence of CPD
Knowledge/Experience Essential criteria - Significant experience of and demonstrable achievement in relevant clinical practice
- Experience of providing professional support/supervision and motivation of staff
- Understanding of Health and Social Care Governance
- Experience of managing staff
