Communications Manager

Position Overview
The Communications Manager will play a key role in the development, implementation and measurement of effective communication programs and marketing campaigns within Encore EMEA. This role is responsible for executing activities individually and through active collaboration with key partners throughout the business and HR, ensuring alignment with business objectives. They will be responsible for driving engaging communication programmes, through the skilful use of multi-media elements and a strong grasp of language, storytelling and copywriting skills that reinforces Encore’s purpose, mission, and values internally and leverage Encore’s Thought Leadership role by thoughtful external comms strategies and content that positions Encore EMEA as leading industry expert. This role reports into the Director, Marketing & Customer Engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Internal Communications
- Drive Results - Drive the coordination and execution of internal events, including Leadership Business Updates and Town Halls, such as quarterly EMEA Town Halls, Monthly EMEA Video Update, Delivery of internal comms ‘campaigns’, Leadership videos
- Research, write and edit internal communications and distribute using a variety of mediums, such as email, intranet, company meetings, etc.
- Management of EMEA Connect and Yammer Communities and oversee the Marketing department’s page for the purpose of effective team communication and collaboration opportunities. Delivery of EMEA news stories for EMEA Connect is an additional requirement.
- See the Bigger Picture - Partner with the US Internal Communications team for alignment, geo-adaption and local deployment of messages, campaigns etc.
- Deliver World Class Service - Collaborate with functional teams to communicate key department-specific news to targeted internal audiences.
External Communications
- Relationships building with regional special interest media (depends on location/country) and organising distribution of regional Corporate press releases in close collaboration with the local marketing functions.
- Content/Case Studies creation for external usage, e.g. blogs, articles, whitepapers, case-videos
- Write press releases and customer-facing communications
- Website content creation relevant to industry and regions
Overall Content Strategy and Production
- See the Bigger Picture - Manages and develops marketing and communications content for social, website and email campaigns (across various channels) under the general direction of senior marketing team members with overall ownership of the content marketing process.
- Supports development of Encore EMEA’s content marketing strategy
- Do the Right Thing - Partner and support the Marketing and Communications Manager to leverage best practices, analyse content performance, and establish benchmarks for content optimisation.
- Online-Editor and writer of the Encore EMEA blog and German-copywriting; identify relevant content stories that shapes our industry expert perception.
Administration
- Provide regular reporting on the engagement activity and success metrics
- Contribute to the creation of the internal and external communications strategy in partnership Marketing and Communications Manager.
- Support the Marketing Coordinator where necessary with Social Media content and messaging.
- Do the Right Thing - Establish best practices and improve upon communication processes for continuous improvement.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Business, Marketing or English (Creative Writing) or equivalent
- 2+ years’ experience in Communications / Corporate Writing.
- Happy to work a minimum of 3-days in the office per week
- Ability to manage multiple projects at one time, with competing priorities.
- Ability to work as part of a team, but also complete independent work.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Adobe Creative Suite e.g. Premiere/Illustrator/Photoshop a plus.
- Excellent writing, communication and relationship management skills.
- Self-starter with strong attention to detail with proven organisational, analytic and problem-solving skills.
- Balanced blend of strategic, practical, analytical and creative-thinking skills.
- Excellent presentation, written and oral communication skills.
- Proactively collaborates with cross-functional teams to create a results-driven, team-oriented environment.
- Prior experience in hospitality or meeting/event planning a plus.
- Understanding of CRM and marketing automation
