Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

Location

Cambridge, Cambridgeshire | United Kingdom

Job description

Job overview

Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is involved with exciting clinical research.  In particular, in partnership with the University of Cambridge, we host the NIHR Cambridge Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) and we have recently been awarded funding to host one of NHS England’s sub-national secure data research environments.

As a consequence, the Research & Development Department needs to appoint an additional part time Solicitor to provide a dedicated legal service to deal with the variety of agreements and legal contracts relating to clinical research and data protection.

Main duties of the job

Duties will include leading on the review and implementation of contractual agreements, providing legal advice on a variety of issues concerning clinical research, and working closely with the Research Operations Office of the University of Cambridge.

The role would suit a commercial contracts lawyer with at least 3 years' PQE. Knowledge of Data Protection legislation is essential. While desirable, experience of working within a healthcare or research setting is not essential.
