Senior Specialist Psychiatrist – General Adult Psychiatry, Barrow in Furness (10PA) We are seeking to recruit a substantive Senior Specialist Psychiatrist (Specialist Grade) to work with the Furness Community Mental Health Team (CMHT), based at Duddon House, Barrow in Furness. This post is full time (10 PA). If you have AC status, there will be an expectation to join the 3rdTier On Call rota. Additional remuneration is available for those participating on an On Call rota. The service covers the Furness area which includes Millom, Ulverston and the Barrow in Furness areas The post holder will work as Specialist Psychiatrist in the Community Mental Health Team (CMHT). He/she/they will work with a multidisciplinary team including nursing, social work, occupational therapy and psychology staff. The team works with a limited number of GP practices and there is an expectation that there will be close liaison with those practices. The specialist doctor will be available to give advice to primary care and the multidisciplinary team. The specialist doctor will have a small caseload of patients that he/she will see in outpatients but the majority of patients will have a separate key worker. Applicants should hold full GMC registration and have a minimum of 6 years’ experience in a relevant specialty in the Specialty Doctor and/or closed SAS grades. It is a requirement that applicants are Section 12 Approved at the time of commencing employment and ideally AC approved (or within three months).
