Description
As a Fostering Supervising Social Worker, you will play a crucial role in supporting and supervising foster carers, ensuring the wellbeing and safety of vulnerable children and young people. This role requires excellent communication skills, empathy, and the ability to build strong relationships with both foster carers and children in care. Responsibilities
Conducting assessments of prospective foster carers and ensuring they meet the necessary criteria for becoming foster parents.
Supporting foster carers by providing guidance, advice, and training on relevant topics such as child development, trauma-informed care, and safeguarding.
Regularly visiting foster homes to offer practical and emotional support to both foster carers and children in care.
Monitoring and reviewing the progress and wellbeing of children in care, liaising with various professionals such as schools, healthcare providers, and therapists.
Participating in multidisciplinary meetings and case conferences to provide input and ensure the best outcomes for children and young people.
Managing and maintaining accurate records and documentation relating to foster carers, children in care, and all interactions with external agencies.
Collaborating with other professionals, including social workers, psychologists, and family support workers, to develop and implement care plans that meet the individual needs of children in care.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Social Work or a related field.
A valid social work license or registration.
Proven experience in a similar role, ideally within a fostering or adoption organization.
Thorough knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to fostering and child protection.
Strong assessment and report writing skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
Empathy, sensitivity, and a non-judgmental attitude.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Flexibility to travel and work outside of regular office hours when necessary.
Hours Per Week: 36.00
Start Time: 09:00
End Time: 17:15
Pay Per Hour: £23.09
Location: Waltham Forest, East London
