J ob Summary:
The BMS Service Engineer based in London is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Building Management Systems (BMS) within commercial, industrial, and residential facilities across the London area. This role involves ensuring the smooth operation and optimal performance of BMS systems to meet client requirements and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Preventive Maintenance: Perform scheduled preventive maintenance tasks on BMS systems to identify and address potential issues before they escalate, ensuring continuous operation and longevity of equipment.
Troubleshooting and Repairs: Diagnose and resolve technical issues and faults in BMS systems, including sensors, controllers, actuators, and communication networks. Conduct timely repairs to minimize downtime and disruption to building operations.
Emergency Response: Respond promptly to emergency service calls and breakdowns, providing effective solutions to restore BMS functionality and mitigate risks to building occupants and assets.
Client Communication: Maintain regular communication with clients, building owners, and facility managers to provide updates on service activities, maintenance schedules, and recommendations for system improvements.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of service activities, including service reports, maintenance logs, and equipment inventories. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Training and Support: Provide training and technical support to building operators and end-users on the operation and maintenance of BMS systems, including user interfaces and basic troubleshooting procedures.
Health and Safety: Adhere to health and safety protocols and procedures while performing service activities, ensuring a safe working environment for oneself and others.
Continuous Learning: Stay updated with the latest developments in BMS technology, industry trends, and best practices through ongoing training and professional development activities.
Qualifications and Skills:
Previous experience in the maintenance and servicing of BMS systems, preferably in commercial or industrial settings.
Strong technical skills in diagnosing and repairing BMS equipment and components, including knowledge of HVAC systems, control systems, and building automation protocols.
Familiarity with BMS systems such as (TREND, TRIDIUM, SIEMENS, SCHNEIDER and DISTECH).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and team members.
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to client sites within the London area.
