We’re looking for a committed and creative Employability Tutor to join our team here at Brockenhurst College on a part time (claims), permanent basis. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £23.80 - £38.82 Per Hour DOE.
Quickstart are the employment support team for Brockenhurst College, providing fully funded short courses to unemployed adults to support them back into work or move a step closer to employment. The team are based in Southampton and deliver courses all over Hampshire, Dorset and parts of Wiltshire.

About the role
As the Employability Tutor, you will support and teach candidates who are unemployed and looking to increase their opportunities of employment.
As an Employability Tutor, you will be responsible for planning and delivering Employability related qualifications to a range of learners. You will be responsible for maximising learner achievement and ensuring learners are provided with an excellent learner experience.
Responsibilities as our Employability Tutor will include:
- Deliver classroom based / accredited qualifications entry 3 – level 2 to unemployed adults (learners)
- Mark/assess students’ work, provide structured feedback and set development objectives for learners
- Plan & design appropriate training programmes (including development of schemes of work, lesson plans etc), taking account of individual requirements to ensure differentiation of learning
- Where appropriate, prepare students to successfully undertake assignments or sit tests/exams in order to maintain high success rates
- Monitor and track students’ progress, including through reviews to ensure high achievement rates
- Deliver inspiring lessons across the curriculum using a wide range of teaching methods for identified modules. .
- Carry out learner inductions and other duties in line with quality assurance processes.
- Develop and strengthen relationships with learners and provide support to ensure successful outcomes.
- Lone working may be required as part of this role
As our Lecturer in Employability Tutor, you’ll ideally have:
- The ability to travel in line with job expectations
- Minimum of PTLLS Teaching Qualification
- Experience delivering Employability qualifications
- Experience delivering construction Health & Safety qualifications
- Experience supporting people to achieve qualifications
- Excellent ICT skills to support delivery
- Experience dealing with unemployed clients
- Strong classroom management including dealing with disruptive behaviour
- Excellent organisation skills
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
